So this morning, as usual, I turn on WNYC. The first couple stories are about the earthquake in China, about crooked landlords forcing out their rent-stablized tenants, and the sub-prime mortgage crisis — scary stuff. Now that I’ve been catapulted into the real world, it makes me feel really grateful for everything I DO have - job, apartment, etc - and really scared about the very real possibility that it could all be gone in a matter of days. I wonder if everyone is as motivated by fear of loss as I am…
